Here are 2 pages from the bible my grandparents (James Blain Gregg and wife Anna) owned.
It has his great grandparents James Gregg born Nov 13 1790 and his wife Catheirne born Mar 11, 1797. Catherine is listed by her second
husbands name Humbert. This tells me that the bible was likely filled in after James death in 1827. Catherine married William Humbert in 1828.
Next are his grandparents George Washington Gregg born 1820 and his wife Harriet(Hartong) Gregg born 1825.
The last two of George and Harriets nine children are on this page: Harriet Emmy born March 2, 1855 and their only son Charles Homer born
Nov 29, 1859.
The other page is very unclear but George and Harriets first seven daughters are listed, born in the 1800s, and it looks like my grandfather, James Gregg's
death was added in on the top line after 1959. The bottom line is James and Annas first daughter with their next two children added below the line.
